Our Mission and
Vision
The Shepherd's Center of Kernersville has a mission
and a vision for the future
-
The Shepherd's Center of
Kernersville is an interfaith ministries of volunteers who
champion and sustain older or disabled adults. (Adopted August
16, 2001)
-
The Shepherd's Center of
Kernersville empowers individuals and enriches the lives of
older or disabled adults in our community. We believe this
provides dignity, respect, purpose, and other essentials of
life. (Adopted April 12, 2001)
We rely on a dedicated group of volunteers who are willing to
share their time with those who may not be able to take care of
themselves. They're often also available to just sit and chat
with elderly or disabled individuals who find themselves alone and
lonely.
The Shepherd's Center of Kernersville is committed to enriching and
enabling independent living for older and disabled adults and their
families in our community. We recognize what a great place
Kernersville is -- a place that we and those we serve proudly call
home.
Welcome to Shepherd's Center of Kernersville on
the web.
We want to welcome you to our web site. We hope that you
will visit with us often and that you may be moved to accept our
challenge and dedicate some of yourself to the commitments we have
made and the goals we have set. Should you find something here
that moves you to react and say that you'd like to help, we have
provided a method through the web site for you to communicate your
wishes and desires to us.
This special ministry would be unable to continue
providing services to the older or disabled adults in Kernersville,
Eastern Forsyth County, Colfax, Oak Ridge and Belews Creek without
the gifts of time and finance from our many supporters.
Please come join our family today!

Purposes
The Shepherd's Center is an ecumenical
organization supported by the area Churches, Service
Providers, Service Clubs, Foundations, Merchants and
interested individuals, serving older or disabled persons in the
Kernersville, Eastern Forsyth County, Walkertown, Belews
Creek and Colfax areas.
The Board of Directors is committed to their best efforts to
achieve the following purposes:
- To sustain older people who desire to
live independently in their own homes and apartments in
the community.
- To provide opportunities for
individuals to use their experience, training and skills in
significant social roles.
- To enhance life satisfaction in later
maturity through artistic expression, community service,
caring relationships, life-long learning, and the
discovery of inner resources.
- To demonstrate life at its best in
later maturity.
- The Shepherd's Center's program is
designed to be helpful to a variety of older people
rather than to serve specifically those who are in need
by virtue of limited income.
